It’s almost midnight and we just got home from a great wedding up in St. Joe. As we were enjoying a late night snack there was a knock on the door. Hmmmmm. We were a bit nervous about who might be knocking on our door at this late hour so we call through the door, “Who is it?” A young woman’s voice says, “Crystal, is Josh here?” Hmmmm. “I think you have the wrong house,” I say. “Is this the K*** residence” (name withheld :) )” “Nope,” I say, “They sold this house 2 years ago.” She apologizes and leaves. I look out this window and see a punk teenager peeing in the woods across the street, an explorer full of people waiting to pull away. SUSPECTS. Why? Odd timing, I think. We have never had anyone knock on our door looking for the previous residents and just one day after our chairs disappear this happens? Hmmmmm. Well, that’s my theory anyway :) Maybe, if it was them, they’ll feel bad and return them??? I can hope :)

Missing: Two lovely
Adirondack chairs…img_0733.jpg

I heard once that Adirondack chairs are supposed to be a symbol of “welcoming”, well, today someone thought that meant they were welcome to take them :( Pretty gutsy, considering they went missing sometime between 12 and 2 pm. Bummer…. :( There is a huge festival at the park this weekend and there are tons of people around, so we are suspicious that someone thought they looked like appealing lounge chairs. We have this tiny shred of hope that someone might return them at the end of the weekend. Maybe they were just borrowing them, right? :)

Well, it’s a good thing we went with the 50 dollar chairs instead of the 300 dollar chairs. But it won’t stop us, we’ll get more welcome chairs, we like them too much to give it up :) In the meantime, if you happen to see two wandering welcome chairs, let us know!

Okay, so one of our favorite once in a while treats is a trip to DQ for a Blizzard. This is usually a once in a while thing. But we are guilty of visiting DQ TWICE in the last two days. Yup, that’s once on Wednesday and once on Thursday. Wednesday was the cookie dough blizzard, Thursday was the Peanut Butter Cup blizzard. Coincidentally our friend Heather has happened to be involved in both of these excursions….Heeeeeather??? Would you have anything to do with this indulgence? :) Naaaah. We certainly didn’t argue when our friend from Alaska, who never gets DQ in her tiny fly-in town, wanted to go to DQ two nights in a row. In fact, it was pretty exciting. A good excuse. Thanks Heath! :)

PS. Heather would like everyone to know that there was NO convincing necessary to get us to indulge in two trips :) She’s right :)

Today I introduced Heather to the Wii. She and Katie came over for a while and learned to play tennis and do boxing. It was quite entertaining! Here is the “Mii” that she created – what do you think, does it look like her? (she’s the one on the right) I don’t think so :)

It was a fun-filled weekend. Here are the photos…enjoy!!

Photos from Reunion and Rachel’s baby shower

A busy weekend of reuniting at CSB 5 year reunion.  Too tired to post now, but a link to all the photos is coming soon!  It was a fantastic weekend…

If you had enough balloons, could you fly away into the sky? I saw a story on CBS Evening News tonight that brought a smile to my face. An actuary from, I’m not sure what city, decided to try it. He succeeded. He has now taken 50 “flights” – how does he get down? By popping one balloon at a time until there are not enough to hold him in the air – then he hopes for a friendly farmer :) The story is not up on cbsnews.com yet, but I thought I’d share it anyway. You’ve got to love the sense of wonder… :)

No pun intended :) he-he. So, I was at a bar tonight celebrating a friend’s birthday – Happy Birthday Sandy! I think she’ll be reading this :) I learned a lesson tonight…I need to practice more if I am going to be playing darts again. It was not pretty. Too high, too low. Completely off the board. Not good. I did get a couple points, but not the ones I was aiming for :) Oh well, better beginner’s luck next time!

The weather was a bit random here today, pop up storms here and there.  I experienced a very odd moment this evening while I was driving, it was a bit disorienting.  I was driving home in the dark in very heavy rain, concentrating on staying within the hard-to-see lines on Hwy 94.  For some reason I glanced up and upon doing so saw the moon in clear view.  Now I’ve been driving under blue sky with a few sprinkles here and there before, but plowing through a heavy rain and looking up to see the moon was very odd.  Turns out I was on the very edge of the storm and about a half mile up the road the rain just suddenly stopped.  But for that moment, I felt like the world was suddenly breaking the rules.

I’ve had a digital camera for quite some time, I’ve always liked it, but I am developing an even greater level of appreciation for my digital camera these past few days. One of my summer “To-do’s” is going through all of my old photos boxes, most of which are filled with doubles of photos I already have in a scrapbook. I figured that with my 5-year reunion coming up this weekend I can offer the extra photos up to friends who might want them and any leftovers will be tossed. Tossing photos is VERY hard for me, which is kind of odd considering that I already have another copy of it somewhere. But I am trying to get over that in the interest of limited storage space. That leads me to my increasing appreciation of digital. Somehow choosing not to develop a picture in the first place is easier than throwing it away, plus it’s easy to store all those electronic files out in virtual folder land without taking up space in my closet :) Love it, love it.
