Another long one today in preparation for Celebration tomorrow…13 hours at BSP.  Tomorrow will be another 13 hour day, but after that life gets sane again :) I will definitely miss the kids, though!

6:30 am – Arrive at BSP
6:00 pm – Leave BSP
6:30 pm – Arrive home and eat dinner
7:00 pm – Work on BSP stuff from home
9:00 pm – Work on real estate stuff
10:00 pm – Blog

I love the summer program at BSP, but I will not miss this work schedule when it ends in two days! :)

Tim and I decided to walk to the other house we own this evening, since it’s on the market currently, and the flowers needed water so as to avoid wilting :) I forgot on our way over that there was a showing at 8:00 pm.  So, we ended up circling the neighborhood for about half an hour – they were at the house for a long time!  We definitely got some good exercise.  And, with all of the showings we’ve had in the last 5 days, we’re hoping for an offer soon!  We’ll see… :)

I can’t believe it.  The days of BSP summer are going by so quickly.  We only have 4 days left this week, plus Celebration on August 1st.  If you’re interested in brightening your Saturday evening with some amazing kids, come on over to Mounds Park Academy for the show! :)

I’ve been an absent blogger again, I know :) The hours and days go by so fast when the BSP summer program is in session, and the weekend hours seem to go by even faster, as I try to squeeze in all of those to-do list items that get ignored during the week!  The weekend has been a great one so far.  I spent Friday at a “Roast and Toast” for my outgoing boss, the founder of BSP.  He will be greatly missed, and it was an enjoyable evening of stories, songs, and even some tears.  Jeff has been my boss/friend for the past two years, and I am happy that he will remain a friend even as he departs as my boss.

After sleeping in on Saturday, Tim and I dove into the to-do list items.  The weekend has been packed with yard work.  Today we conquered “the jungle” (aka: our backyard).  It has become quite overgrown the past couple months, and we’ve so far ignored it.  It was finally time to do some hacking.  I should have taken some before and after photos, but I didn’t think of that until the “after” which makes it not as cool :) However, I did think to take a photo of our tree transplant experiment.  We have lots of baby silver maples all over our yard from the seeds of the large silver maple that used to be in our neighbor’s yard (before it fell onto her garage in the big storm a couple summers ago).  We had to cut all of them down because most were intertwined in fences or growing up against the house.  However, we decided to do a little experiment to see if a transplanted one will survive in our backyard.  We’ll keep you posted!  Here’s a photo of Tim watering it this afternoon…

img_4932.JPGMy friend, Kate Dugan, is the co-editor of a book that got published! A couple of my other friends also have essays in the book!   So cool.  I am so excited toread it, though I think most of it will have to wait until BSP summer is over :) Congrats, Dugan!

I’m too tired to write much, but today was a great one at BSP.  It was the last Visitor’s Day, and the kids and teachers dazzled the audience with the annual musical version of all school meeting…awesome.  MUCH more also happened today, but recounting a 12-hour work day at 10:15 at night is beyond my remaining energy.  So instead, I’ll just end with a smile :)

This is the new term I have adopted for the final weeks of the BSP summer program :) The brain spin results when field trip logistics, celebration preparations, teacher support, mentor wrap-up, student issues, teacher wrap up planning, final assessments, and other daily logistics all converge.  The brain spin involves lots of lists, lots of “wait…why did I come in here again?” moments, and lots of deep breaths.  Good thing it only lasts a couple weeks, because I think if my brain spun this much for too much longer, I’d get a little too dizzy :)

The weather guy on the news tonight was commenting on the return of summer.  Since Fall is my favorite season, I was really enjoying these last few days!  :) Oh well…

Wow…what a crazy week!  If my blog is any indication, I don’t think I’ve rarely missed 2 nights of posts in a row :) Now that it’s the weekend, I am emerging from the craziness.  Things really ramped up this week at BSP, and with multiple real estate clients.  Thus, pretty much every waking hour was spent doing one type of work or another.  An occasional week like this in the summer is expected, and I enjoy it all, so it’s all still worth it.  Only 2 more weeks with kids at BSP – I can’t believe it! The summer goes by so fast.  I will definitely miss all of the kids and teachers when they leave.  Plus, I will be bidding farewell to my boss & friend, and the founding director of BSP…he his off to China!  That will be a big change as well.  Well, here’s to the weekend, for a little catch-up on the rest of life! :)
