I think there is a brick forming in my sinuses. I love the outdoors, but my allergies are rough this time of year! Wowsers.

As I left BSP today, I stopped at the conference room at the end of the hall to say hi to the new Breakthrough student with whom Ashley was meeting for his enrollment process. I greeted the new student and said, “I will be seeing a lot of you this summer.” He proceeded to reply, “Well, I am pretty sure there will only be one of me,” as he half-smiled. I laughed all the way to my car. Quite witty for a middle school student!

I revamped my blog after having some issues uploading photos on the old one. Along with the upgrade came a new address: www.butterflydesign.com/storyaday, however, the old address is set to bounce to the new one. The fun thing about the new look is that I can change the header photo! The one that’s there now is from our trip to North Cascades last summer

That about sums up my day
I spent some time this afternoon listening to Kathy play as an oboe sub in the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. They played some nice songs, and Kathy was relieved that she didn’t mess up on a few bars of playing that featured the oboes. It was an enjoyable afternoon. Tim and I walked around the park a bit this evening, and I admired the pretty trees. This time of year, the trees all around Como Park flower, and they smell and look very nice…

Tim and I try to make it to at least one of Peter Mayer’s concerts every year. He’s a folk artist that crafts these great songs blending hilarity about every day happenings, and deep reflection on life. The night was made even better by the fact that we spent time both before and after the concert with friends. A great Saturday night! If you’re not already a fan of Peter Mayer, I recommend checking out his music: www.petermayer.net

There are some days where I get to the end and go, WOW, that was quite a day! Here’s a synopsis..
9:30 am – Met real estate clients to get contractor bids for negotiation purposes in a sale.
11:00-4:00 am – Conference calls & meetings for summer planning at BSP.
4:00 pm – Picked up a student from our program who’s having a rough time, transported the student to another local non-profit for crisis intervention and sat with the student through the intake process.
6:00 pm – Met up with a couple people for a dinner meeting.
8:00 pm – Met with real estate clients to discuss their potential upcoming purchase.
10:00 pm – Scanned and emailed a finalized lease to new tenants for a rental property.
These days make my head spin! But it keeps life interesting

I spent much of the evening working on my grad school field experience project. I am putting together a publication for the MN College Access Network that profiles all of their member organizations. I have all of the profiles done, but doing the final formatting in Microsoft Publisher is driving me crazy!! I’m not much of an expert in Publisher, and having minimal knowledge leaves me floundering as I try to finalize this document. I’m sure there are much easier ways to standardize the formatting, but my cursory searches on Google and the help menu have so far been fairly unhelpful. Any Publisher experts out there?

Tim and I got tickets from his boss to attend the Twins game today at the new Target Field (his boss has season tickets). It was pretty cool, even though the Twins lost
We were in a section that got sun for about the first 20 minutes, but was in the shade the rest of the time, which was a big relief! It’s amazing how hot it got in those first 20 minutes (no, I didn’t have my fleece on at that point
), and we felt bad for the people in full sun the whole time, and this was on a 65 degree day! I can’t imagine how hot it will get in the heat of summer. It was great in the shade, and it was nice to feel a breeze while watching the game. I doubt we’ll be back for any more games this year, but it will be fun to say we went to one in the first season at the new stadium!
